20 May 2024: Legal Overview on Tapera (Tabungan Perumahan Rakyat), the "Citizen's Saving for Housing"

On 20 May 2024, Indonesia promulgated the Government Regulation Number 21 Year 2024 on the Amendment of Government Regulation Number 25 Year 2020 on the Implementation of Citizen's Saving for Housing (Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 21 Tahun 2024 tentang Perubahan atas Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 25 Tahun 2020 tentang Penyelenggaraan Tabungan Perumahan Rakyat) , commonly called as the " Tapera " . Referring to its definition, in principle, Tapera is a saving, conducted periodically by the "Participant", that can be utilized only for financing the housing and/or can be returned along with its yield resulted after the one's participation is ended. As stipulated in Article 15 of the Tapera regulation, the "Saving" rate has been set at 3% (three percent) of the "Salary" or "Wage" towards the "Employee Participant" (0.5% by the Employer and 2.5% by the Employee), and of the "Income" towards the "Independent Worker...

Indonesia's Minister of Trade Regulation on the Export of Crude Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized Palm Oil, Palm Olein, and Used Cooking Oil

Indonesian government, specifically the Ministry of Trade ("MoT"), has issued the Regulation Number 30 Year 2022 concerning the Export of Crude Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized Palm Olein, and Used Cooking Oil (the "Regulation"). This Regulation revokes the Regulation of MoT Number 22 Year 2022 concerning the Temporary Ban on the Export of Crude Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized Palm Olein, and Used Cooking Oil -- the (same) commodities -- which previously issued on 27 April 2022.

Export of commodities, which details are specified in the relevant Appendix under the Regulation, may only be performed by the Exporter which has obtained the PE (Persetujuan Ekspor, the Export Approval), on which the said Exporter shall have fulfilled the requirements as subsequently stipulated in the Regulation. The said Export Approval will be issued by the Directorate General of MoT on behalf of the Minister, and its application must be submitted electronically to the Minister via SINSW (Sistem Indonesia National Single Window, an electronic system integrating the information - system related to the process of custom, quarantine, permit, port / airport, and other document relating the Export and/or Import).
