20 May 2024: Legal Overview on Tapera (Tabungan Perumahan Rakyat), the "Citizen's Saving for Housing"

On 20 May 2024, Indonesia promulgated the Government Regulation Number 21 Year 2024 on the Amendment of Government Regulation Number 25 Year 2020 on the Implementation of Citizen's Saving for Housing (Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 21 Tahun 2024 tentang Perubahan atas Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 25 Tahun 2020 tentang Penyelenggaraan Tabungan Perumahan Rakyat) , commonly called as the " Tapera " . Referring to its definition, in principle, Tapera is a saving, conducted periodically by the "Participant", that can be utilized only for financing the housing and/or can be returned along with its yield resulted after the one's participation is ended. As stipulated in Article 15 of the Tapera regulation, the "Saving" rate has been set at 3% (three percent) of the "Salary" or "Wage" towards the "Employee Participant" (0.5% by the Employer and 2.5% by the Employee), and of the "Income" towards the "Independent Worker...

14 February 2022: Domestic Affair Minister Instruction on COVID-19 limitation, 16 Feb' 2022: Circular Letter of COVID-19 Task Force

Indonesian Domestic Affair Minister issued the Instruction (Instruksi Menteri Dalam Negeri) Number 10 Year 2022 for Java & Bali area, and Number 11 Year 2022 for outer Java & Bali area, concerning further COVID-19 limitation (Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat / PPKM) on 14 February 2022, which is effective for period of 15 - 21 February 2022.

Subsequently, on 16 February 2022, COVID-19 Task Force issued the Circular Letter Number 7 Year 2022 on Health Protocol related to Overseas Trip (Protokol Kesehatan Perjalanan Luar Negeri Pada Masa Pandemi COVID-19, the "COVID-19 Task Force Letter 7"), which revoked its previous Circular Letter Number 4 Year 2022. 

COVID-19 Task Force Letter 7, which is effective from 16 February 2022 until future date to be confirmed by COVID-19 Task Force, stipulates the quarantine period, among others, as follows:

upon arrival, the traveler shall go through the PCR re-test and centered quarantine with period of

7 x 24 hours for traveler had been vaccinated with 1st dose

5 x 24 hours for traveler had been vaccinated with 2nd doses

3 x 24 hours for traveler had been vaccinated with 3rd doses, or

traveler under age of 18 and requiring special protection, their quarantine shall follow the quarantine protocol applied to their parents or nurse/companion.
